by Lindenhof Visit Date:May 8, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "A great resort to stay a couple of nights. We stayed in a garden bungalow and is was good. If you want a beachfront bungalow, in mine opinion it s not worth the extra money that you have to pay for it. It s not directly on the beach anyway. The service is great and also is their breakfast. It s a buffet and they have a great variety of food. The food at the restaurant is good, but the a la carte menu is small I think, so after a couple of days you get bored with the menu. But at the beach there are some other restaurants you can try.We had a couple of massages at an other resort on the beach, Phi Phi Erawan. The massages are great, cheap, and directly on the beach so you have a great view.Go for a romantic private dinner on the beach. Great surroundings and food.We ll come back here!" |
by Evelyn fletcher and bernard fletcher Visit Date:March 17, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "What can i say we just love this place it was our 3rd visit and we will be back next year. On arrival we had a beautiful welcome back floral display on our bed, people say that it,s not 5 star but they charge 5 star prices we have travelled a lot and there is nowhere else like it we will gladly pay to stay here it is a fantastic place the staff at the resort are always helpfull.Plenty of places to eat along the beach we found the Sea Gypsies had great food and cheap followed by the Jasmin. Location quiet but what an awsome place can,t wait for next year." |
by Mia Sirkia Visit Date:February 19, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Great facilities, very friendly staff and hotel beach front is best in Phi Phi. Negative part are the rooms, which are very dull and old concrete blocks and look like some very cheap Holiday Inn in Europe/US. But we still enjoyed the hotel very much and stayed 2 weeks." |
by Reginald Frank Tomlinson Visit Date:January 21, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We stayed at the hotel for 8 days in January 2010. The location, food, beach and staff are fantastic. Bamboo Island, Mosquito Island and Hin Klang are just a couple of minutes away with a longtail that you can get from the beach at any time. Fantastic for snorkeling, relaxation and good food. However, at night, there is not much to do other than hanging around at the bar or take a walk on the beach to some of the restaurants by the gypsy village, og some of the other resorts on the beach, so if you are looking for a place to party, this is not it.The bars/restaurants are expensive, but very good. The shop is very expensive, and has very small selection of things. I would recommend to bring all the sunlotion etc before you arrive. Beer and softdrinks etc, are under half the price if you go for shopping in Tonsai. The rooms could need some improvement, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing wonderful time in tropical surroundings." |

The location and hotel is very nice.I would like to say one important thing about food. Breakfast as everybody writes is good, it s true, a few words about dinner, try a local restaraunt, it s called Gypsy Village (or something like that), maybe it doesn t look very presentable, but it s realy tasty there!!! Just go to the beach then turn left and you ll see it!" |

July 16, 2009 by Carsten Mogelvang Visit Date:July 10, 2009 "This is a family resort, and a bit low quality compared to others Holiday Inns. No tv, bungalows low on accessories. Staff was very helpful, but food and resort is way overpriced! Breakfast is good, but a la carte dinner is awful. I ordered a pizza, and i got a one from freezer!! Beach and sunset bar is nice, but rest could be better." |
Very fast!!!!, June 22, 2009 by B.Willems Visit Date:June 12, 2009 "We stayed here for 6 nights, with 2 children. It s more like a honeymoon place, but the children also loved it here. We had a bungalow very close to the beach. Resort looks very nice, staff is very friendly, food ok, but a little bit expensive. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to relax, sit back and enjoy the beauty of the beach and the sea." |
Very good and efficient., January 19, 2009 by Mr G Walker Visit Date:January 14, 2009 "My husband, myself and two children ages 2 and 4 years stayed here for four nights. 10-13 January 2009. Our experienced was mixed, and on the whole we enjoyed our stay, as the location is wonderful, lovely beach, very relaxing and the fqacilities for us as a family wiht young children suited us - i.e. accommodation on low level and good pool (despite the pool turning our swimwear yellow). Downside:-In our opinion the rooms are over priced for what you get, i.e. not 4 star accommodation by any means. Things such as the towels are a bit worn and the showers have a shabby old curtain, and the rooms are a bit tired. Having said that the accommodation is spotlessly clean and it was comfortable asnd very peaceful. The food in the restaurant is also not really up to scratch, so I would recommend eating next door a the Gypsy Village restaurant - Jasmine s, great view and great food and much cheapr than the hotel due to lack of excessive service charges. (They do set a small service cahrge and this goes towards the maintenance of the local school. There are also no TV s in the rooms - not a great problem, but when you are trying to give the kids some down time, it would have been a good accessory to have. However, after painting a bit of a gloomy picture, I would go there again as the location is wonderful and once you get to know the other parts of Phi Phi - this is great. Staff are also quite helpful." |
very good, easy to use thanks, January 13, 2009 by Sarah Walker Visit Date:January 3, 2009 "Very Boutique style, tidy and clean.Best resort on that beach, we thought.Great staff, service, close to other islands by longtail boat and Speed boat.We had garden bungalow near each front.Beach is sandy for swimming and they alos have great pool.would return. nz" |
Smooth as usual., December 17, 2008 by Renate Unneberg Visit Date:December 13, 2008 "Very good hotel with all amenities, nice and quiet, good breakfast-buffet, nice beach, good and clean pool, would definately stay again, but not less than three days, a little windy experiance in getting there, only longtailboat and waves, so got pretty wet. The children were a little afraid during the boattrip, but the weather was nice and the water incredibly clean!! The wind was only during the morning, after 13 pm, it was calm." |

Brilliant as always. I always use Sawasdee for all our vacations to Thailand!, November 5, 2008 by Syed Ali Abbas Rizvi Visit Date:October 22, 2008 "Holiday Inn was just ok. My husband and I were traveling with our 13 month old infant daughter, and the baby cot that they provided was for a 6 month old... very uncomfortable for a baby. There was no TV either. Otherwise, all was ok. The breakfast was great. Thumbs up for that." |

August 9, 2008 by R. Koole Visit Date:July 28, 2008 "Stayed here 3 days, location is on the east site of the island, therefore you need a longtail boat from tonsai bay (where the ferry arrives) to get to the hotel, cost about 700 THB one way (low season). Stayed in a garden villa which was nice and clean. The breakfast buffet is perfect, a large variety of food. For dinner we went to the gipsy village which is next door, good food for a good price. Despite the hotel is on the other site if the island and thus away from the restaurants and shops at Tonsat Bay, we would return to holiday inn again." |
